Election 2010 World Poverty Day confirmed

World Poverty Day

The election 2010 ‘World Poverty Day’ has been confirmed as 18 April 2010 – the third Sunday before Election Day.

World Poverty Day was initiated in the last General Election in 2005, when each political party leader profiled international development policies.

The agreement for a similar day in 2010 was first announced at the Annual Conference of Bond – the membership organisation for UK international development NGOs.

On the day itself, please:

- Tweet with the #Voteglobal hashtag

- Write letters to local newspapers (including in response to the day)

- Take part in actions and events which will be found on the Vote Global map
